To preserve their mild flavor and “squeak”, it’s better to keep them at room temperature. Caution: they are addictive! Just like chips, it’s impossible to eat just one. So, not to worry, they won’t sit on your kitchen counter for long!
Our neighbors from the North – the Quebecers – use them in their very decadent Poutine, a dish made of french fries, topped with cheese curds and hot gravy! And yes, the hot gravy melts the cheese curds, just to make the whole thing even more decadent.
